First Day of First Grade!

I still can't believe that Grace is old enough to be in first grade!! I had a harder time sending her this year than I did last year, believe it or not! I even offered to home school her. She declined and chose to go to school. Not a big deal. I was fine after I got home and got busy cleaning and didn't have to break up any arguments. lol! I did miss her. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Snyder. Her room is really neat, by that I mean not cluttered! I wish my house was that neat and tidy. Grace even commented that she didn't have stuff all over like Mrs. Kester did. She has her own desk and sits with three other kids to make a table. She has kids from Kindergarten in her class which was really fun for her and her best friend, Heather, is also in her class.

Family Trip

Well, as you all know from my last post we went to West Virginia for a long weekend (a couple of weekends ago). We started off our trip taking the girls fishing. Martha and Grace both caught their first fish! They were so excited, but the excitement didn't last long enough for Pat. lol! We went to Seneca Rocks and stayed in a little cabin and went swimming in the indoor pool there. We had a great view of Seneca Rocks and when we woke up in the morning, it was just beautiful to see that from our deck. Patrick took Grace and Martha to the tee pees to look inside and around the campsite. They had a nice walk. After checking out from there we headed to Canaan Valley State Park. The deer there come right up to your vehicles. We went to the little nature building they had there and then we played miniature golf. When we finished there, we headed to Black Water Falls. We had a picnic and looked at the falls from the overlook there and then went to the gift shop to buy some souvenirs. We didn't actually make it to the bottom of the falls. There are 214 steps down. By the time we were ready to go, the kids had reached their limit. So we headed towards home. We made it to Cumberland, MD before we had all had enough. We checked in to our motel and had dinner and went swimming again. Even with all my protests, we had a really nice time. It was tiring, but nice to be together!
My little fisher"girls"!

Pat's mom came to visit us, she only lives 20 minutes from where we stayed on Thursday night!
The kids love visiting with their Gram!
A very casual family picture! We were all pretty tired!

Just Had to Vent

Okay, I try not to complain too much (ha) and want anyone's pity, but I am really sad this week. Some of you may know that I was supposed to be on a fun trip, just for women - no kids. An exciting week of spiritually uplifting speakers, a make over and just lots of fun things, things I really felt (still feel) that I needed! The best part was that it was all expenses paid, even airfare! Well, circumstances just didn't allow for the trip to happen, and by circumstances, I mean Patrick! Okay, I love my husband, but I am really disappointed in his lack of cooperation. I won't go into all the details, he just felt that it wasn't going to be possible for me to leave for a week. I know I should be over it and sometimes I don't think about it at all, but obviously I am not over it and I was just hoping that by posting this, it might help me get past it, plus the conference is over this Saturday, that will help! lol! So, to make up for me not going to Utah, he has decided we need to go WV and spend a long weekend. I love WV, but when I think of a fun, getaway, it's not there. I go to WV all the time, we are from WV, I was just there last weekend for a family reunion. I have pretty much done all there is to do there. Okay, here I go again. I guess I need to focus. I am greatful that we will have family time together. I just wish it would be at the beach or anywhere but where we are going. So sorry for the downer of a post, just had to get some things off of my chest. I will let you know how our weekend goes.
